Milwaukee's Night Is the Historic Third Ward and Brady Street
Third Ward south of downtown has the Water Street bar corridor reshaped — The Trocadero runs until late, Stubby's Gastrogrub has the beer program, and the waterfront patios in summer run past 1 AM. Brady Street in the East Side is the indie-neighborhood version with Hi-Hat Lounge, The Up-Down, Roman Coin.
For live music, Turner Hall Ballroom books touring indie and rock; The Pabst Theater and Riverside Theater are the larger rooms. Bay View south of downtown has become the newer bar neighborhood — Bryant's Cocktail Lounge is the 1938 institution.
Wisconsin runs 2 AM last call with bar-closing extensions on weekends. Bars still pour free shots for regulars in places — it's a real Milwaukee tradition.
